By Elaina SmithI am assuming Professor Arcenaux is going to NAB next week, which made me curious to see what they have going on for radio. The NAB show is a giant one with over 90,000 media and entertainment professionals from over 150 countries. This is where the media lives, and looks amazing, hopefully we will all have a reason to go one day soon! The article I found talks about how the Wegener Corporation will be highlighting radio broadcast solutions at NAB 2012. They don't give up much about what they are saying, which just makes me want to hear more! It should be an interesting talk, and I am glad to see radio being highlighted at this important show. Amazon to start new service -- taking your old CD's and giving you Amazon gift cards
by: Jocelyn Lambert
Remember the days where you'd scrounge up your parents old Rod Stewart CD's, grab some Disney soundtracks you haven't listened to since you were 6 and trek down to Warehouse Music, hoping to trade 5 or 6 scratched and dusty albums for the brand new N*SYNC record? Ever since digital music became the norm for purchasing music those days have been long gone.
But not anymore. Amazon announced today that they'll be adding used CD's to their trade-in program, which already allows customers to mail in their old textbooks, DVDs, electronics and video games (they even pay for postage!) and get a gift card to Amazon in return. The company, which is the largest online retailer, listened to customer feedback and hopes that this new feature will encourage customers to trade in their old CD's and purchase MP3's directly from the site (Amazon has over 19 million songs to choose from!).
